Color is such an important aspect of witchcraft in general, however color in art magic is a main component. Art witches uses the color spectrum and the intention of each color to invoke its magical response within their art pieces. There been scientific studies on how our brains react to different colors. For examples, a lot of fast food restaurant chains use warm colors like red to attract people to their establishments. Fast Food Restaurants use Red in their logos and around their
stores because it revs up people's appetites, making them hungry, which therefore makes them likely to enter the store and then buy more food while they're in there. Another examples of color magic being used in advertisement is the color blue. The color blue represents trust, faithfulness, caring. What companies can you think of that uses blue a lot in their advertisement? Companies do not just choose a colors to represent their business because it looked ‘nice’, companies choose colors to promote an emotion reaction from their customers. Walmart uses blue in their logo to try to tell you that they are trust worth business and they will never let you down because they are faithful to their customers
When doing art magic, you have to look at your audience like corporations do. You need to provoke an emotion responses from you audience in order to capture their attention . First step of use color in your art magic is figuring out your intention behind your piece. What spell do you want to cast? How do you want people to feel when they look at your paining? For example, I like to infuse Reiki into my paintings to help heal others. I tend to use a lot of cool colors in my artwork. Cool colors represents healing and relaxing.
You can look at color in a spiritual and witchy way when creating art magic. Green represents abundance, pink represents love, ext. Think about candle magic, some witches use different colors candles for different spells. You have endless possibilities when it comes to color, just do your research and play with different colors. Before making you spell painting, make some color samples and show it to people and ask them how they feel about when they see colors combinations. The best advice I can give is use your intuition and see what color resonates with you.
